Part 10: ワ ヲ ン and Additional Letters

ワ ヲ belong to ワ-row in the 五十音図 [gojūon-zu].

ン does not belong to any row or column of the table.

Reading

Letter ヲ is rarely used. Only Hiragana を is used as the particle.

Additional Letters

These additional letters are invented in the modern era to describe the sounds of foreign languages.

ァ, ィ, ゥ, ェ and ォ (small ア イ ウ エ オ) are attached after particular letters.

ヴ is used for [v] sound. But not always the case.

In general, [v] is taken to be [b] sound. For example, Victoria is ビクトリア in Japanese.

Writing

	The first stroke is vertical and should not be too long. Differentiate clearly from the letter ク[ku].
	Mind the stroke order. Two horizontal lines are drawn first.
	Mind the tilt angle. Differentiate clearly from the letter ソ[so]. The second stroke starts from the bottom.

Typing

The following are keystrokes for commonly used foreign syllables.

This way is shorter. For exaple, [wi] is shorter than [uli] to type ウィ.
